I have enjoyed countless of hands of chemin de fer. I began sneaking into the gambling halls when I was 16. I have gambled on online vingt-et-un, I have counted cards, and worked as part of a team for a little while. Given all that I have still spent all kinds of cash at twenty-one. The casinos have made it nearly impossible to beat the house.

I still like the game and bet on a regular basis. Over the years I have bet on a variation of twenty-one called "The Take it Leave it Method". You will not get rich with this method or beat the casino, however you will experience an abundance of fun. This method is built on the fact that chemin de fer seems to be a match of streaks. When you are hot your on fire, and when you are not you are NOT!

I play basic strategy vingt-et-un. When I don’t win I wager the lowest amount allowed on the successive hand. If I do not win again I wager the lowest amount allowed on the successive hand again etc. Whenever I hit I take the payout paid to me and I bet the original wager again. If I win this hand I then leave the winnings paid to me and now have double my original bet on the table. If I win again I take the winnings paid to me, and if I win the next hand I leave it for a total of four times my original bet. I continue betting this way "Take it Leave it etc". Once I do not win I return the wager back down to the original value.

I am very strict and do not back out. It gets extremely thrilling at times. If you win a few hands in sequence your bets go up very fast. Before you know it you are wagering $100-200per hand. I have had great runs a couple of times now. I left a $5 table at the Venetian a few years ago with $750 after 45 minutes using this tactic! And a number of weeks ago in Vegas I left a table with $1200!

You have to understand that you can lose much faster this way too!. But it really makes the game more enjoyable. And you will be aghast at the runs you witness wagering this way. Here is a guide of what you would bet if you continue winning at a five dollar game.

Wager 5 dollar
Take five dollar paid to you, leave the initial 5 dollar wager

Bet 5 dollar
Leave five dollar paid-out to you for a total bet of ten dollar

Wager ten dollar
Take $10 paid to you, leave the first ten dollar wager

Bet ten dollar
Leave $10 paid to you for a total bet of $20

Wager 20 dollar
Take twenty dollar paid-out to you, leave the original 20 dollar wager

Wager 20 dollar
Leave twenty dollar paid to you for a total bet of forty dollar

Bet $40
Take forty dollar paid to you, leave the first $40 wager

Bet forty dollar
Leave $40 paid to you for a total wager of $80

Bet eighty dollar
Take eighty dollar paid-out to you, leave the original 80 dollar bet

Bet eighty dollar
Leave eighty dollar paid-out to you for a total bet of 160 dollar

Bet $160
Take 160 dollar paid to you, leave the original one hundred and sixty dollar wager

If you left at this moment you would be up $315 !!

It’s hard to go on a streak this long, but it occasionally happen. And when it does you can’t alter and drop your bet or the final result will not be the same.
